KitchenAid Appliance Repair
KitchenAid repair in Miami-Dade and Broward: dishwashers, built-in and counter-depth refrigerators, wall ovens, dual-fuel ranges, cooktops and wine cellars. Quote after diagnosis; same day when a slot is open.
KitchenAid has belonged to Whirlpool since 1986, and the kitchen appliances carrying the badge are built on Whirlpool platforms with heavier trim, more stainless and a fuller feature set: the dishwashers share the Whirlpool global wash platform with its filter-based Clean Water Wash system and ProDry fan, the French-door refrigerators use Whirlpool's dual-evaporator Preserva cooling, and the 42- and 48-inch built-in refrigerators come out of the same Amana, Iowa plant as JennAir built-ins. That lineage matters for repair, because a KitchenAid part number often cross-references to a Whirlpool, Maytag or JennAir part that is easier to obtain.
The cooking line is where KitchenAid separates itself: dual-fuel and gas ranges with Even-Heat true convection, double wall ovens with a bow-tie convection element, induction and gas cooktops, and the commercial-style ranges with 20,000 BTU burners. RapidFix Appliance Repair technicians work on all of it in Miami-Dade and Broward, from the counter-depth refrigerator in a Coral Gables kitchen to the under-counter wine cellar in a Fort Lauderdale condo. We are independent; nothing here implies a relationship with Whirlpool or KitchenAid.

Common KitchenAid problems
Dishwasher leaks underneath, tub stays dry
On the Whirlpool-platform dishwashers KitchenAid uses, water on the floor with a dry tub usually points at the diverter motor shaft seal under the sump, which lets water drip into the base a little each cycle, or at the drain pump or sump gasket. The base is dried, the machine run through a wash in service mode, and the drip located before a part is named.
Dishwasher control panel dead or buttons unresponsive
The touch panel on the top of the door is a membrane ribbon into the user-interface board, and the ribbon is the usual culprit when half the buttons stop responding. A machine that lights up but will not start more often has a door latch or a thermal fuse on the control. We prove which before quoting a board.
Refrigerator fresh-food side warm, freezer fine
KitchenAid's Preserva French-door models run a separate evaporator for the fresh-food compartment with its own defrost heater and thermistor. When that defrost fails, the fresh-food evaporator ices over and the compartment warms while the freezer stays perfect. The frost pattern and the heater circuit tell the story before anything is ordered.
Built-in refrigerator running constantly
The 42- and 48-inch built-ins draw air through a condenser at the top of the cabinet behind the grille, and in a South Florida kitchen that coil loads with dust in a year or two. A loaded condenser raises head pressure and runs the compressor hot; we clean it, check the condenser fan, then confirm the sealed system is healthy before any larger repair is discussed.
Oven takes forever to light, or heats unevenly
Gas KitchenAid ovens light with a glow-bar igniter that has to draw enough current to open the safety valve; a tired igniter glows orange but never pulls enough, so the oven preheats slowly or smells of gas before it lights. On electric and dual-fuel ovens the bow-tie convection element, the hidden bake element and the oven sensor are metered, and the relay board is suspected only after the elements test good.
Cooktop burner clicks nonstop or induction zone drops out
A gas burner that sparks continuously has a wet or cracked electrode, a stuck spark switch or a spark module that is latched on. Induction cooktops report a zone fault when a power module, its cooling fan or the pan-detection circuit misbehaves, and the fault code narrows that to one generator before the glass comes up.
RapidFix Appliance Repair repairs KitchenAid appliances throughout Miami-Dade and Broward: dishwashers, built-in, counter-depth and French-door refrigerators, wall ovens, dual-fuel and gas ranges, cooktops, built-in microwaves and wine cellars. Because KitchenAid is a Whirlpool brand, our technicians arrive with the Whirlpool diagnostic sequence already in hand: the dishwasher's service cycle that steps through fill, wash, heat and drain, the refrigerator's forced-defrost and sensor readout from the dispenser panel, and the oven's fault-code list read from the control. Those tools turn a vague complaint into a specific circuit before any panel comes off.
Built-in refrigeration is the KitchenAid work that needs the most planning. A 48-inch unit sits flush in cabinetry, the condenser and controls live at the top, and the sealed system is reached from above rather than behind, so we tell you before the visit what has to be moved and whether a second technician is coming. For everything else the pattern is the same as the rest of our work: a $69 diagnostic that is applied to the repair you approve, a fixed quote for the exact part and labor, a 90-day labor warranty and up to 12 months on parts. KitchenAid repair is available in Coral Gables, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Aventura, Hollywood and the rest of both counties; call (754) 888-5560 to book, same day when a slot is open.
Frequently asked questions
Do you repair KitchenAid built-in refrigerators, or only freestanding?
Both. The 42- and 48-inch built-ins and the 36-inch counter-depth units are a regular part of our work in Coral Gables, Pinecrest and along the Fort Lauderdale waterfront. They need a technician who knows the top-mounted condenser and the dual-evaporator layout, and we plan the visit around the cabinetry.
My KitchenAid dishwasher's clean light is blinking. What is it telling me?
On the older Whirlpool-platform controls, a blinking clean light is a stored fault, and the count of flashes points to a circuit — seven flashes is the heater circuit, for example. Newer models show an F-code such as F8E4 for drain or F6E1 for fill. We read the code first and then test the circuit it names rather than replacing the control.
Why does my KitchenAid French-door fridge warm up every few weeks and then recover?
That cycle fits a fresh-food evaporator that is icing over and then partially thawing. KitchenAid's Preserva models defrost the fresh-food evaporator separately from the freezer's, so a failed heater, thermistor or defrost relay on that side lets frost build until airflow stops. We check the frost pattern and the defrost circuit on that evaporator.
Can you fix a KitchenAid oven that will not unlock after self-clean?
Yes. The door lock motor and its switch, the latch cam and the control's lock logic are each testable, and the fix depends on which one failed. We also check the oven sensor, because a sensor that reads high can make the control keep the door latched.
Do you service KitchenAid wine cellars and beverage centers?
Yes. Compressor-cooled units get the same treatment as a refrigerator — gasket, thermostat or control, evaporator fan, condenser cleaning — while thermoelectric models have a Peltier module and fans that are checked separately. Dual-zone units have two thermostats and two air paths to trace.
How much is a KitchenAid repair visit?
The diagnostic is $69, and it is credited against the repair if you go ahead. Once we know the part, you get a fixed price for that part and the labor to fit it; there is no hourly meter running. Phone (754) 888-5560 or use the online booking form.
